Energy-Efficient Windows
Energy-Efficient Windows in Grand Rapids
An efficient window is a system, not just a pane of glass. Dianaliang builds that system from a low-E coating, argon gas fill, warm-edge spacers, and a double-pane or triple-pane insulated glass unit, all wrapped in a vinyl, fiberglass, or wood frame. The result carries an ENERGY STAR label sized to the U-factor and SHGC that a cold climate zone like Kent County actually needs.
Why Efficiency Starts With the Label
- U-factor holds heat in. The lower the U-factor, the slower your warmth escapes on a 15 degree Grand Rapids night. It is the single most important number on the NFRC label here.
- SHGC balances the sun. The Solar Heat Gain Coefficient controls how much summer heat the glass lets through, keeping a west-facing room off Wealthy Street comfortable in July.
- The spacer stops the cold edge. A warm-edge spacer replaces the old metal band that used to leak heat and fog up at the glass perimeter.
Our Process
We measure each opening, show you the exact U-factor and SHGC on real labels, and help you match the glass package to how each wall faces the sun. Then we install to those targets, seal with flashing tape and foam, and finish the trim clean. Most homes are done within a day or two once the glass is fabricated.
